I just returned from my China trip 3 days ago. After I finished the tour, I went to Putuoshan on my own. I had a marvelous time in Putuoshan. It is fascinating, the food is good and the trip is not very difficult. Also, the hotels are quite nice. I had 3 guides on my trip. My guide in Shanghai was a delightful young lady named Si-Si ( not her real name, but the name I called her). She was extremely knowledgable and very friendly. The lunch was just adequate. Dinner was very good and in fine restaurants. There was only one problem- I had to eat alone. The hotel in Xian was fine. The rooms were beautiful, large and the view from my room -1501 was pectacular! The location at Renaissance Shanghai was so convenient! By the way, I ran into a neighbor and his family from Glendale, California while in Yu Yuan Garden: it truly is a small world! ... More

Our guides in China went out of their ways to make our trip comfortable & fun. They shared a lot about local culture & helped to make it one of the best tours we have taken. We definitely will use this company again!

We took a private tour of Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai, and our group consisted of my husband, my 20 year old son, and me. Our son is studying Chinese in college and studied abroad in Shanghai this semester. We met him at the end of his semester in December to begin our tour. We normally travel independently but felt that our tour of China would be too complicated to plan and carry out on our own. We greatly enjoyed our experiences on the tour. All of the sights and shows on the planned itinerary were worthwhile. We did not feel at all rushed by our guides and we had sufficient time to see the sights. If we wished to wander off the standard path to see something that caught our attention, the guides were more than glad to do this. Since our tour was a private tour, we were very pleased that we had great flexibility to modify our itinerary as we wished, both before the tour and during the tour. Our son did not join us until the last day of our tour in Shanghai, as he was finishing his exams and packing, and we received a refund to compensate for this.We added a free day in Shanghai at the end of our tour so that my husband could meet with his business colleagues there, and also opted to return to Beijing by train instead of by plane. The guides were also very flexible during the tours, since it was a private tour. For example, we were able to leave our hotel in Xian early on our departure day and rent bicycles to cycle around the city wall, which we greatly enjoyed. We also had time to add a visit to the 88th floor observatory in Shanghai to our itinerary, which was not in the original plan. We had great fun when in China. ... More

We had a marvelous time! China is a fascinating country and our only regret is that we did not have a month in which to explore Beijing and Shanghai. But those will be the focus of our next trip!

We had a phenomenal China trip. The tour exceeded all of our expectations. Our tour guide in Beijing, Candy Lin, was especially exceptional. She was waiting for us on the platform when we arrived so we had no worries about trying to find her in a crowd of people. She is, perhaps, the best guide I've had since coming to Asia. She possessed extensive knowledge and was able to provide an incredible amount of detail not only about the places we visited but about the country and history. We learned more in the four days than we had in the previous eight months of living here in China.
The sights we visited were spectacular. It was wonderful having a chance to see historical Chinese places as so many of them have been destroyed here in the south. The Great Wall at Mutianyu was just as it is pictured in books and movies. It's truly an awe-inspiring place.
The hotels we stayed in were all first rate. The rooms were spacious, clean, well-lit, and very, very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The vast array of food selections--both chinese and Western--ensured that everyone in our group was able to eat something. The meals included on the tour were great. There was so much food, it was impossible to eat it all. There was also an excellent mix of dishes so we were able to try a variety of traditional foods. One recommendation I would make about the food is for the a la carte meal. We had a great deal of difficulty choosing foods and some of the foods were not what we had expected. For us, it would have been easier had the meal been pre-selected. We ended up ordering far too much food and then wasting it. But, the food was still very delicious.
All in all, everyone in our group was thrilled with the tour. The only complaints we had were regarding the crush of people at a couple of the sights and that certainly wasn't anything you could control. I'd give it five stars.

Great tour overall. We had a wonderful time. Selena did a great job of the Shanghai portion of our tour. She is our favorite. Drivers & Cars: They were all satisfactory. Meals: With the exception of the first meal in Beijing, we were satisfied with the quality and quantity of food provided and the venue for all the other meals. We had some special diet requirements. We were pleased that TCG was able to made special arrangements for us. If there were only one meal that I like to recommend to my friends or family, it would be the dumplings. It was simply super! We are satisfied with your choice of 5-star hotels. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The décor were attractive. The breakfasts served were great. Comparatively speaking, the only one that may be a bit limited in its choice of food was in Beijing. Nevertheless the meal was adequate. Thanks for the very professional service. ... More

Thanks so much for the wonderful tour you organised for me during my recent trip to China. My tour guides and the drivers were fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the spots we visited. I especially enjoyed the Hutong tours. I have one suggestion however. Have you ever considered a bike tour to places such at Tianamen and the Palace. It would make a lot of sense to me that with the traffic conditions in Beijing and the short distance from the hotel to these spots, a bike tour on this day would be quicker and more flexible than taking a car over to these particular places in the thick traffic. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anybody. It was very interesting, informative and I had the time of my life. ... More
